Genealogy Blog Finder
In the past I haven’t read many blogs, but lately I’ve been looking for more to subscribe to. I wanted to find genealogy based ones, but I wasn’t finding much just through searches via Google.
This morning I discovered genealogy blog finder.
It lists 26 categories of genealogy blogs (it’s actually 28 categories, but the other two, “Recently Updated” and “What’s New”, really don’t count, IMO, since they are also listed under other categories). I don’t know how comprehensive it is, but it definitely has a lot of listings, many of the categories listing 100+ blogs. Some of the feed’s descriptions are a bit lacking, but that’s only due to the blogger’s inability to describe his/her site accurately. I saw way too many “My genealogy site” descriptions. I also found a couple dead links. But, in any case, this is definitely what I have been looking for in the past few months.
I haven’t been able to look through everything on Genealogy Blog Finder, but these are the blogs I’ve recently subscribed to via their site:
Now What? Expert Answers to your Genealogy questions – a blog run by Family Tree magazine covering a whole range of topics, all in a question and answer format (I’m fond of this kind of how-to help).
Family History Research: Methods & Writing in Genealogy – a typical genealogy methods blog. The author is partial to oral history. So am I, so this seemed like a good one to check out.
Ancestor Search Blog – a blog about genealogy search engines, devoted to blogging about new features and tips on searching. There’s also a few miscellaneous entries that aren’t related to searches. I’m not really sure if this is one to keep on my feed, but I’ll give it a chance.

good news.
